Bluebird and Sekisui House
Bluebird had a great morning with our client Sekisui House touring the nearing complete ‘Greenhouse’ building at West Village.
Sekisui House Australia is a residential property builder and developer who have brought to life the Greenhouse. The building design is unlike anything else in Brisbane and is laying the foundations for the next generation of commercial developments with a focus on sustainability!
UDIA Fundamentals Course
Bluebird’s Co-Founder Claire O’Rourke presented at the UDIA Fundamentals Course. This in-depth property development course enhances property professional’s knowledge across the residential development cycle in Queensland. Claire covered the importance of market research in the development life cycle and the acquisition process.

Property Council Australia Breakfast - Rising Rates and the Residential Market
Riye and Rachel attended the PCA Breakfast where they listened to a panel of market experts, who will delve into the data and research including typology, mortgage data, and economic analysis, to predict what is in store for SEQ in the second half of 2022.
They took away a few interesting points to share:
Accelerated price growth was seen across SEQ, however, prices are slowly coming back, and this could possibly be the recovery we need
Almost every Australian city has now hit its peak with a -0.5% decline in prices since April 2022 (Brisbane down -1.6%)
Main drivers are interest rates, change in sentiment and increases in the cost of living
Bluebird, Ellivo & Mewing Event
The three companies took an opportunity to get our wider teams together for an evening of networking, business development and fun!
It was made even better with the ‘Empathy Mapping’ activities put on by Ellivo. Which was an opportunity for the three companies to collectively come up with a design for an inner-city residential development catering for three apartment buyers ‘The Developer’, ‘The Town Planner’ and ‘The Architect’. VERY entertaining results!
Site Tour - The Standard
Paula and Kate attended a site tour of Aria’s project, The Standard, with Alana from Ellivo Architects.
The tour was part of Brisbane Open House 2022.
500 Women in Property
Kate attended the Virtual Masterclass for 500 Women in Property. Keynote Speaker was Sonia McDonald, CEO and founder of Leadership HQ, Outstanding Leadership Awards and McDonald Inc. The session explored why leadership is an attitude, not a role or a title.
Kate and Riye also had the opportunity to attend the 500 Women In Property ‘Catch-Up’ where they had a morning of network with fellow members.
AFL - Brisbane Lions vs. Melbourne Demons
Riye and Claire attended the Brisbane vs. Melbourne AFL game at the Gabba.
Although Brisbane were thrashed by the Demons (57 - 115), they had a great night connecting with their friends at HopgoodGanim.
