Brisbane’s $15 Billion Makeover

Brisbane is growing up! Everywhere we turn, we can see the $15-billion makeover taking place. Who would have thought we would finally see Brissie stepping out of the shadow of Melbourne and Sydney! By the end of 2026, Brisbanites will be spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment, lifestyle, living choices and transportation.

And here at Bluebird, we are pumped to be a part of it!

Something very close to our hearts is being part of the incredible team delivering the new world class Queen’s Wharf development. Set for completion at the end of 2024, Queen’s Wharf will put Brisbane on the map as a tourism, leisure and entertainment destination!

This $3.6 billion project will offer new entertainment precincts, luxury residential apartments, next level dining experiences and new watering holes for Brisbanites and visitor alike to indulge in.  Activating an untouched side of the iconic Brisbane River, Queens Wharf will spectacularly shape the landscape of Brisbane in an unprecedented way.

We have also started to see a shift in our entertainment hubs with the recent Howard Smith Wharves development in Fortitude Valley, a destination that celebrates the best of Brisbane! Can you believe HSW opened almost a year ago now?!

The new $1 billion Brisbane Quarter is also nearing construction completion, with the insta-worthy W Hotel launched into the market last year.

Our entertainment destinations are set to expand with the proposed Brisbane Live Precinct in 2023, a new ultra-entertainment venue for superstar concerts and performances as well as world sporting events. And a new QPAC theatre will also be appearing in 2022, which will see the expansion of Brisbane’s already thriving cultural and artistic identity.

We’re also looking forward to the new $1.48 billion Waterfront Precinct transforming Eagle Street Pier into a premium destination business and leisure destination.

And of course, Brisbane will soon see four new transport options by the end of 2025, further connecting people and continuing our growth as an international city.

new airport runway and a cruise ship terminal are scheduled for completion by the end of 2020.

And last but not least our public transport is getting a full makeover by the end of 2026, with the introduction of the highly anticipated $5.4 billion Cross River Rail and the Brisbane Metro. One thing we’re excited to see will be the upcoming demolition of the old Roma Street Brisbane Transit Centre over the coming months!

As we said, Bluebird are absolutely pumped to be a part of this transformation and proud to call Brisvegas home.
